"Both our sons have been lucky enough to be taught by Dave. Our eldest had Dave as his school teacher for AS Pure Maths where Dave challenged and stretched the class brilliantly resulting in our son and several of his class mates getting 100% UMS on what I understand was a pretty tricky Pure Maths paper. So when our youngest son was struggling a little in school, it was our eldest son who suggested we get in touch with Dave for private tuition. Dave has been working with our youngest son for 18 months now. He tailors the content and style of lessons to suit the learning needs of the child and our son really enjoys the sessions. His understanding and confidence have grown hugely and Dave contacts us regularly to give us updates on his view of our son’s progress. We are absolutely delighted with the progress he is making and really can’t recommend Dave highly enough."

Dave is very aware of the difficulties students in this day and age face and he is about identifying their individual needs and helping them build confidence in Maths. Dave was very informative and kept me up to date about my son's progress. I know that I would recommend him to everyone and my only regret is not finding him sooner. A child's confidence is easily dented when they are lost in a large class so building it from an early age is key(in my opinion as a Mum of three.) If you want your child to be happy and confident when it comes to Maths at all levels, Dave is the only tutor you need. I just wish I had his patients and tenacity, as well as his brain!"

"If you are struggling with maths or just need a bit of revision help, you will not be disappointed. My son went up a grade in 3 months of tutoring, now 8 months later his confidence has increased greatly and I could now even say he enjoys the subject he once dreaded and his marks continue to improve.
My son is very quiet and needs time to feel at ease with people, this was achieved in a single 1 hour session.
I can only summarise by saying that Mr Ashton is an amazingly talented and very kind man, who gets the best out of his pupils. His knowledge is extensive and his explanations very easy to understand. I cannot recommend him enough, you will not be disappointed and positive results will be seen very quickly. "When I started out before having Dave Ashton as my maths tutor, the best result I was looking to receive in my GCSE's was a C. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't wrap my head around the equations or the questions.
As soon as I started with Dave however, things immediately began to click. Not only did I understand questions, but I also knew far easier tricks and methods to tackle them, far easier than the methods they teach in school. It's all thanks to him I received an A* in my numeracy paper the end of last year, and am facing the prospect of another in November. Dave turned not only my grades around, but my entire thoughts and beliefs on maths, going from my least favourite, to my absolute favourite subject.
He was that good I recommended him to my friend who was also struggling in maths and facing similar prospects, and he too also received an A*, just like me. I would recommend absolutely anyone to Dave as he's the single best tutor I've ever had."
